Supreme Court upheld Obama health care overhaul - Jun 29th, 2012 - National

The U.S. Supreme Court has upheld the individual mandate in President Obama's health care overhaul. The ruling hands Obama a campaign season victory in rejecting arguments that Congress went too far in requiring most Americans to have health insurance or pay a penalty. The court found problems with the law's expansion of Medicaid, but says it could proceed under certain conditions.
Michigan Governor Rick Snyder says "While I may not agree with everything in the law, now that the Supreme Court has essentially upheld the Act, we must act quickly to avoid an undue burden on Michigan residents and job providers.
