2nd industrial accident in West Michigan - Jun 7th, 2012 - Local
A worker died on the job yesterday when he was crushed by a press at a packaging materials plant in Norton Shores. The accident happened around 2:30 p.m. Wednesday afternoon at a NuPak Solutions Plant near Muskegon. The company makes Styrofoam parts for packaging. The worker tried to dislodge a part from a press which activated while he was working on it. The worker died at the scene. No name has been released yet other than to say he was a worker who worked as a production lead for several years. The plant is small and counseling services will be available today.
This is the second industrial accident in 2 weeks in West Michigan. MIOSHA is investigating the death of a worker who died in a machinery accident in Otsego.
