Some 115 refugee children coming to West Michigan - May 24th, 2012 - State

Bethany Christian Services is looking for foster families for a large group of children coming from Africa. A majority of the 115 refugee children will likely end up here in West Michigan. Many of the children are coming from the Congo region and have been orphaned and living in refugee camps for years. They are not adoptable because the status of their parents can't be documented.
Bethany Christian Services say they are also looking for mentors for these children. They need additional volunteers who can commit to one hour per week to help acclimate the children to the U.S. culture.
