Obama heading home from Afghanistan. - May 2nd, 2012 - International

An attack by the Taliban hours after President Barack Obama left the Afghan capital, Kabul, has killed seven people and wounded 17, mainly schoolchildren. The Taliban said the attack was a response to Obama's visit. But it is also possible that the Taliban were capitalizing on timing because such attacks require planning.

President Barack Obama is expected to arrive back home in Washington this afternoon following a surprise visit to Afghanistan.

Obama signed an agreement with Afghanistan's president to keep the U.S. in the country until 2024, training Afghan troops and working counter-terrorism after American combat soldiers leave in 2014.
