G.R. UICA to make changes - Apr 24th, 2012 - Local
The Urban Institute of Contemporary Arts board of directors on Monday announced plans to immediately implement a strategic restructuring plan designed to stabilize the institution's declining financial situation. As part of the plan, Jeff Meeuwsen has stepped own as the executive director and has agreed to consult with the board on curatorial planning and grant writing efforts. The UICA will also reduce the hours of operation to Thursday through Sunday throughout the summer months.
The board will also appoint a small group of donor advisors and artist professionals to provide ongoing review of finances and oversee the reorganization process.
The UICA moved into its new location on Division and Fulton in 2011.
