GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (AP) — Organizers of the annual ArtPrize event in Grand Rapids are set to reveal the winner of the competition's $200,000 top prize.
The identity of the winning entry is to be unveiled at a ceremony Friday evening.
The public participates in two rounds of voting to distribute $360,000 of the prize money. First place receives $200,000, second $75,000, third $50,000, and fourth through 10th get $5,000 each.
The first round of voting produced the 10 finalists. They're from California, Connecticut, Florida, Michigan, Ohio, Washington and West Virginia.
In addition to the public voting, professional jurors are distributing $200,000 in prize money to artists at their discretion.
ArtPrize runs through Sunday.
